I am an independent service provider located in Srilanka, Recently I moved numerous of my client on to Provider.lk as they advertised that they provide “Managed WordPress Hosting”. Upon confirmation at checkout they provide phone support for technical which I opted out as I believed any ticket based system in Tech would respond on time.
As I was doing a WordPress install and development I noticed that multiple functionality needed for a Managed WordPress Hosting account was not available. When enquired they were forcing us to move to dedicated server. When I tried setting up the webmail, and tried accessing it through my mail client, the server kept banning our IPs. It was necessary to contact and open a ticket (mind you they take about 6 hours on average to respond to tickets and even for small tickets like removing IP blocks, living in srilanka most of the user have dynamic IP, imagine having to unblock a new IP everytime you access from a remote location) every time the IP is banned to unban the IP. Which is super inconvenient.
When their hotline is called up to rectify issues or progress tickets they have a standard reply of this is a sales lines and there is no way they can provide technical support or raise the issue to a higher management. They seem to have no transparency in the company or who is running it, were are the funds used (really a big question) or who provides the hosting service.
Upon research it was understand the company (Provider.lk) was initially known as LKWebHosting and they have sold many hosting accounts and then closed the clients hosting account as abusive.
I would highly recommend you to check the legitimacy of the company (Provider.lk).
The reason I write to you is because they informed me that they would be reporting us as an abusive customer and terminating our account without providing a refund for the client who I was working for, I would not like my client being affected due to the incompetence of the service provider.
Provider.lk is the worst hosting company that I have worked with and I would highly not recommend to anyone.
